First Look: Carpet Co. x Vans Old Skool 36+

The Maryland Mavens have teamed up once again with the Van Doren Boys and it's quite the treat. Introducing the Old Skool 36+ —a fresh take on Vans’ legacy silhouette that’s chock-full of all kinds of craftsmanship, skate shoe know-how and Carpet's customary attention to detail. A true banger from a couple of skateboarding's heavyweights.

New Take on an Old Skool

Rooted in Vans’ heritage, this collaboration harks back to the original Style 36 from 1977. But while its DNA is OG Vans, Carpet’s take on this classic features some serious modern design.

Made from tasty suede, luxurious quilted faux-croc suede (calling back to 2024’s Half Cab drop), and with those crisp yellow and black tones, this skate shoe is a real beast.

Along with the top-tier materials on show the timeless silhouette is given the usual Performance Power-Ups: PopCush insoles, Duracap reinforcement and SickStick rubber soles.

And the icing on the proverbial clobber cake is the custom Carpet Co. details. Interchangeable Velcro tongue patches, Arabic text labels, and embossed die-cut logos on the waffle outsole bring a DIY edge. It’s dope and we wouldn’t expect anything less from the Baltimore bosses 

But a Carpet clobber drop wouldn’t be complete without some seriously heavy cotton wares. This time round we’ve got a full 435gsm sweat suit. It’s damn heavy, features washed out hues and has the custom hologram Vans x Carpet Logo – mental right?
