A guide to Ace Trucks: Which trucks should you buy?

Choosing the right skateboard trucks can feel overwhelming. With varying sizes, materials, and design features like kingpins and baseplates differing across brands, the options can quickly become confusing. To make things simpler, we’re creating brand-specific guides to break down the choices and highlight what’s available.

This Ace Truck guide isn’t a complete encyclopaedia—personal preference plays a huge role—but we aim to clear up some of the uncertainty and make selecting your next pair of Ace trucks a whole lot easier.

Here’s a breakdown of what makes them a firm shop favourite and how to pick the right pair for your board.

Some Ace info

Ace Trucks Mfg are hailed as some of the best skateboard trucks available, and with good reason. Unlike other truck brands, Ace is independently owned and run by skaters for skaters. Founded by absolute industry legends Joey Tershay and Steve Ruge—both bringing decades of truck expertise and turning know-how to the table—Ace has become a trusted name for top-tier trucks.

What sets Ace Trucks apart is their surf-inspired geometry. This design delivers a looser, more responsive turn, making them a go-to choice for skaters who're after fluid carving or a flowing ride – once you give a pair a go you’ll understand why they get labelled “surfy”. But Ace isn’t just about smooth turns; their trucks are built tough as a boot, using premium materials to stand up to the rigours of all types of skating.

With no frills or gimmicks, Ace Trucks are pure performance, designed for longevity and reliability. Their roster of riders includes top talents like Caspar Brooker, Ville Wester, Jamie Platt, Nick Boserio, Dane Brady, Brian Delatorre, Max Palmer, Eli Reed, Tom Remillard, Kevin Rodrigues, Shin Sanbongi, Ronnie Sandoval, Raven Tershy, Brian Anderson, Sage Elsesser, Kevin ‘Spanky’ Long, Tom Penny and loads more.

For those who demand performance, durability, and unparalleled turning ability, Ace delivers the goods every time.

Ace Trucks collaborations and Pro models

Beyond their core lineup, ACE Trucks collaborates with other brands and features pro-model trucks for a range of top skaters. They've teamed up with companies like Theories of Atlantis and Carhartt WIP, resulting in some banging  truck designs and colourways.

Some of the skaters with pro-model ACE trucks include Kevin “Spanky” Long, Brian Anderson, Max Palmer, Raph Langslow, Jake Hayes, and Louie Lopez. These pro-models often feature custom colors, graphics, and sometimes even unique hardware – well worth a look.
