Introducing War Saw - New skate shoe brand from Jamie Thomas
We’re always after new brands to bring to the NOTE roster, so when The Chief hit us up on the phone with a new project we had to take the call.
Enter War Saw, the latest venture from skateboarding legend Jamie Thomas – the same man behind Zero Skateboards and Fallen Footwear. His new 100% independent brand focuses on the holy skate shoe trinity - clean design, durability, and comfort. The name is inspired by Joy Division and David Bowie, both of which made Warsaw references and with this Manchester connection we've been sold on it since day one.
War Saw’s aim? To serve up understated, durable gear that’s just as at home at Fog Lane as it is at a gig, an art show, or even (brace yourself) a wedding. Thomas describes it as “Elevated skate lifestyle”.
War Saw isn’t just another skate brand; it’s built for those who live the culture, but maybe want something a little more versatile for stomping around any occasion.
The Low-Key Style
War Saw’s (dare we say) vibe is understated, with a conscious choice to keep branding subtle. All of the styles are made to be skated in but also to be worn in more casual lifestyle settings where minimal branding is preferred. Instead, there’s a barely-there “X” stitch on the quarter panel – a quiet nod to War Saw the brand and what it’s all about.
This low-key aesthetic makes War Saw shoes and apparel perfect for the evolving skater because these pieces are designed to blend seamlessly into your day-to-day.
Ed Templeton Collab
For their first collaboration, War Saw teamed up with artist and skate icon Ed Templeton, a partnership that fit’s like a glove as Templeton put Thomas on Toy Machine back in the day and the link between Templeton’s art and War Saw’s vision.
The collab includes apparel but also fully vegan versions of the Chapter Mid and Stranger Slip-On styles in the stockade. Both silhouettes combine War Saw’s focus on durability and comfort, featuring pretty damn good vegan materials that hold up to the relentless demands of skating.
Premium Materials, Thoughtful Design
War Saw’s gear is made to handle whatever you throw at it. Every item in the collection is constructed from of the most premium materials we’ve seen come through the NOTE doors, these bad boys feel amazing and you can tell are built to last.
This whole collection has got the two thumbs up from the Workers and Lurkers to put it simply.
