Brand Introduction: Come Sundown
Come Sundown is a new name to NOTE that we’re pretty buzzing about.
Think sun-fried imagery, creative bog door etchings and random trinkets you’d see down the pub and you’ll have a basic idea of Come Sundown’s vibe.
Helmed by the talented Marcus Dixon, an illustrator and graphic design don, Come Sundown is inspired by the Australian landscape, its folklore, and a distinctive sense of humour that could only be described as quintessentially Aussie. This sweet concoction of influences makes for a tasty wearable cocktail and we’re big fans.
Marcus Dixon, primarily known for his banging graphical work with Pass-Port, brings a similar level of creativity and distinctiveness to Come Sundown. However, this doozy of a brand allows Dixon to not only pull illustrations from the deepest recesses of his mind but to use found imagery to inspire graphics and to think more broadly with meticulously designed cut and sewn pieces. The result is some pretty amazing graphics matched with very tasteful bits of clobber entwined with the same pub humour and Australian cultural cues.
Dixon has also pulled together a team of rad skaters to represent the brand. Team riders include Riwaz 'The WZA' Kazi, Adelaide Norris and Rowan Davis, who turned pro with Girl Skateboards last year.
If you’re not familiar with Come Sundown or their team definitely watch the Long Walk, Short Pier made in collaboration with Vans and Rowan Davis’ part for the brand (both at the bottom of this blog), they’re both very very good and give you a better insight into the brand than this blog ever could.
This is our first season stocking Come Sundown and we’re stoked to see their collection on the shop floor and on the site.
The collection includes eye-catching t-shirts like the Come Sundown Twist Tee, Concuss Tee and Deceit Tee, each bearing the brand's signature graphic style. It also features more detailed constructions such as the Deceit Jacket, Twist Pants and aptly named Full Metal Jacket and an array of accessories.
That’s enough preamble, take a look at the collection and get clued up on Come Sundown.
